Monkey Support and Wellbeing
Supporting you through your training journey, offering and creating safe spaces for Monkeys
It is important to us that all our students feel able to make the most of their time at Fourth Monkey – after all, your training journey should be fun, stimulating, and enriching! However, we know it can also occasionally be challenging and stressful, especially if you are living away from home for the first time in a city as busy and bustling as London, so we want to ensure that we have a range of suitable tools and structures in place to help support our Monkeys through these challenging and stressful moments, whenever they may arise.
We are an advocate for #Time4change, a movement started by the Musical Theatre Academy to raise awareness in the performing arts sector about mental health issues and the stigma surrounding it. Fourth Monkey Actor Training Company is proud to be one of a handful of training centres to support and actively promote mental health awareness for our students.
Fourth Monkey and Togetherall
The mental health and wellbeing of our current and incoming students is something we take very seriously. We are very proud to be able to offer all students in the Monkey community access to free mental health support via the Togetherall platform.
An online mental health community, Togetherall is available 24/7 and is monitored by trained mental health professionals to ensure it remains a safe space in which users can share whatever they might be experiencing or struggling with at any given time, explore and discuss their feelings, and get creative by discovering ways to help them self-manage their mental health and wellbeing through a variety of online resources and courses. To make sure all users feel able to fully express themselves and discuss whatever they might be struggling with whilst using the platform and its resources, Togetherall is also completely anonymous.
To encourage our students to make the most of the platform and its resources, incoming students will receive a unique URL giving them access to the Fourth Monkey Togetherall community, plus an introduction to the platform. This introduction will include creating an account, posting on message boards and exploring the various resources on offer, as part of a wider ‘Student Support and Welfare’ session during Induction Week under the guidance of Fourth Monkey’s Academic Manager.
In the meantime, all Fourth Monkey students can familiarise themselves with Togetherall and what they have to offer by clicking the link to their website below:
